First Look - The eVic

Sorry for the length of this one, especially for just a first look but really stumped by this one!!

I bought this for £53.99 from www.vapingthings.com

  1. Hmm I don't know what to purchase. Should I get a pillow that is nice and fluffy and looks really pillowish, or should I get the ugly pillow that has an inbuilt calculator, displays how many minutes I snore each night and which yells at the misses when she farts in bed?

  2. Nice "First Look" review Todd, thanks. The Evic has vanished from VapingThings so I don't know if that just means he's out of stock at the moment or been told off by Joyetech :D

I bought my Evic from BV (more expensive than VT but still under the RRP!). I do like my Evic but I agree with a lot of what you say in the video, it's more of a gadget than a mod (but I'm a sucker for gadgets).

  3. I tell you what, I have many mods both mechanical and VV/VW, and I love my eVic as much as any. No I don't use many of useless features, but its a very comfortable mod to use and delivers a great vape imho. Firmware 1.2 really has made this mod into a great one, not to mention Stainless battery tubes and caps are available.

  4. Btw, if you hold the control to the left for a few seconds, you change it to display watts/voltage and ohms instead of the time or puff counter. there are 3 different settings to choose from. This grew on me and I really do vape with it lots.

  5. Love the screen on the evic with 1.2, shows battery, voltage, wattage & atty resistance at a glance and no clicking through menus. Once set I havent looked at the rest & i dont need to.

p.s. if you are using a 64 bit operating system, right click on the MVR icon and run as administrator and it will recognise the evic straight away, no need to uninstall.

  6. I use Windows 7 64bit and didn't have any issues with the software. I did however have an issue with my eVic which Todd knows all about. Had one, won't be having another one.

  7. I am totally with you on this. I am a gadget junkie but this one just did not appeal to me. I think its because it has so many things that I just have no use for. I still use it, but it is only for the v w feature and only because I refuse to learn how to get specific ohms on my rebuildables and the v w will adjust for that.

  8. Just received the Siam evic 18650 stainless steel body, and now this feels alot better, much better quality. I dont use the USB interface (except to upgrade firmware) and swap out batteries.

Overall now very happy with the evic display on an SS body.
